The Making of a Gem (Chamcha)

My mother, like many other mothers of this country, have always told me to be quiet and submissive. At schools, tuition, college, university, workplace I should be just a quiet little kid who says Yes to everything.

I should say a Yes to my teachers who will give me good scores (doesn't matter if I am acquiring knowledge and wisdom, I should be a literate loser)

At tuition, I should say Yes to my tutor for, she is the one who will again give me good score at the school exam (because my private tutor and my school teacher are the same)

At college and university, I should keep myself away from everything that asks for my opinion and voice. I should be a good student who goes to the college to study and score good marks and escapes from all other things/events which might make sense. I should get a good job! And for that my scores are important. Even though the university VC is a shameless carrot, I should smile to him and respect him.

At the workplace, I must say Yes to my boss and superior because my promotion and increments are extremely important. I should be nice to them.

Dear Ma, instead of using sweet words to make me understand the importance of intellectually impotent, you could have straight away asked me to shut the fuck up!

But then, why did you ask me to be the MAN when I get married?
